Theater UnCorked is humbled and grateful to have been recognized by the Boston Theatre Critics Association with 5 Elliot Norton Award Nominations for this season's productions of SIDE MAN and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF!

We are thankful to have had such wonderful casts and production teams for both shows. Congratulations as well to all the other outstanding nominees in all categories.

The opportunity for a small theater company such as ourselves to be recognized and have an artistic voice is a testament to the amazing Boston theater scene and the hard work the Boston Theater Critics Association puts in season after season.

meet our director…

Allison Olivia Choat (she/ they) is thrilled to return to Theater UnCorked after directing the company's inaugural production of Sweeney Todd back in 2018. Allison is an award-winning freelance theater artist, educator, and advocate whose work lies at the intersection of direction and design. Allison is also Associate Artistic Director and Founding Partner of the Boston-area theater company Moonbox Productions. Recent credits include Moonbox's The Manic Monologues (Set Coordinator) and Central Square Theater's The Rocky Horror Show (Set Designer). Selected additional credits include Torch Song (Director; Norton nom., Outstanding Production); Parade (Associate Director/ Dramaturg; Norton award, Outstanding Musical); Cloud 9 (Assistant Director/ Set Designer/ Dialect Coach; Norton award, Outstanding Production/ Outstanding Director; Norton nom., Outstanding Design); Caroline, or Change (Director; Norton nom., Outstanding Musical), and The 39 Steps (Director; Norton nom., Outstanding Production; Norton award, Outstanding Director). Offstage, Allison is an academic administrator at Harvard University, a voice actor (Colonial Radio Theatre; The Penumbra Podcast), and a voice and movement coach for performing artists and athletes of all levels.
